Company history

The company was founded in 1991 under the name Cardiac, now Baze Technology, as a lightweight ICT platform for the visualisation of real-time data in the oil and gas industry. With 16 years of experience in how real-time data can be used to reap business benefits and results, the company took its first foray into the healthcare sector in 2003.

In 2007, that part of the company was demerged under the name Imatis to focus on the healthcare sector, and since then has exclusively specialised in e-health. Imatis opened its office in Porsgrunn with support from the regional business development agency Vekst i Grenland, and subsequently with significant support from Innovation Norway at a local level.

Imatis was aquired by DNV in the summer of 2021, which was renamed DNV Imatis following the acquisition. The purpose of the sale was to position the organisation for further growth and development, and to facilitate the implementation of the strategy for international expansion. After continuous growth for a number of years, Imatis had made a major impact on the Norwegian domestic market, and the time had come to take the plunge and fully commit to major international growth.
